This moist crumb cake is perfect when served with chai. Oats Sesame Seeds Crumb Cake is one of my all-time favorite seed cake recipes to date.

So, this time it’s all about sesame seeds & Oats. 2 power packed ingredients which are simply good for you. They’ve got so much goodness that you do not want to omit these.
As a result, the cake recipe we making today is called Oats & Sesame Seeds Crumb Cake. However, the reason we call it a crumb cake is because it feels like moist crumbs when you bite into a piece of cake. This cake is moist, crummy and the sesame seeds add a good crunch to it.

Ingredients for this Seed Cake Recipe
Sesame seeds: Firstly, they are high in minerals and add a good crunch to your baked goodies. The market has 2 types of sesame seeds available. White sesame seeds and black sesame seeds. I’d like you to use black for this recipe.
Oats: Next, oats is another ingredient which is packed with nutrients. In this recipe, we going to use it in the form of flour. You can use ready-made oats flour but if you do not have this option just make your own flour at home. To do so, first of all, weigh the required oats and then, put it in a food processor. Pulse until it is ground to a fine powder. Your Oats flour is ready.

Recipe – Oats Sesame Seeds Crumb Cake
Ingredients
- 2 cups oats flour
- ¼ cup black sesame seeds
- ½ cup caster sugar or coconut palm sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ¾ cup dairy milk or soy milk
- 1 egg
- 6 tablespoon butter, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Instructions
- Firstly, in a bowl, add the oats flour, sugar, baking powder, and sesame seeds. Mix well (dry ingredients)
- Next, in another bowl, add the butter, egg, milk and vanilla essence. Blend well. (wet ingredients)
- Once done combine both, the wet ingredients and dry ingredients. Do not overmix. Just make sure there are no flour lumps.
- Pour the batter into a 6-inch baking dish. Bake in a preheated oven at 80 degrees C for 40 to 50 mins or until an inserted skewer comes out dry and there you have your Sesame Seed Tea Cake ready
Notes
- This black sesame cake is crummy. It’s perfect as a snack. You do not want to use it for carving purposes under fondant or cream, that would be a complete mismatch
