Ingredients to make Overnight Oats – 4 Amazing Flavors
For the base mixture with oats
Oats
There are a variety of oats available in the market like steel-cut oats, rolled oats, instant oats, etc Steel-cut oats needs to be cooked for a long period of time, instant oats gets too mushy when soaked overnight as they are already pre cooked and is ready to use. Rolled Oats is the best options for overnight soaked oats as its steamed and the soaking process makes the texture just right
Milk
I’ve used regular full-fat milk to make overnight oats. But you may use almond milk, soy milk or any milk of your choice
Yogurt
Yogurt adds creaminess and thickness to this recipe. It gives the oats a nice texture. Greek yogurt has the best texture for making soaked oats
Sweetener
Avoid using refined sugar to make this recipe and look out or healthier options like honey, maple syrup, date syrup or any sugar free or vegan substitute. Add the sweetener as per taste
Chia Seeds
Chia seeds is what makes this dish complete. It swells up during the soaking process and makes the oats thicker in texture. It’s a very healthy ingredient and it just right to have with your overnight oats. Black of white chia seeds, or even a blend of both can be used
Toppings for the overnight oats
The below recipe has four flavor options which include toppings like fresh fruits, nuts, seeds, nutella, etc. These need to be added as per choice. It’s best to add the toppings last minute just before biting into your chia seed oats in the morning, it keeps the nuts crunchier and fruits fresher
