This Healthy Strawberry Chia Seed jam is a sugar-free jam recipe which is homemade with natural honey, chia seeds, and strawberries

Ingredients

  • 2 cups extra ripe fresh or frozen strawberries, chopped 320 grams
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice 15 ml
  • 3 tbsps honey or maple syrup, add as per sweetness 60 ml
  • 2 tbsps chia seeds 30 grams

Instructions

  • In a pan, add the strawberries and cook on low to medium heat. Cover the strawberries for a while with a lid, this will help the strawberries to become softer in texture
  • Once the strawberries are soft, use a potato masher to mash it. Add the lemon juice and stir well
  • Add the honey as per taste (remember, if the strawberries are extra ripe, they will be sweeter, and thus will require lesser honey)
  • Lastly, add the chia seeds to the mixture and cook for a few minutes. The mixture should turn slightly thicker in texture. Switch off the gas and pour the jam in a jar. The Jam will thicken as it cools. Once at room temperature, close the lid and store in the fridge for more than a week
