This Healthy Strawberry Chia Seed jam is a sugar-free jam recipe which is homemade with natural honey, chia seeds, and strawberries
- 2 cups extra ripe fresh or frozen strawberries, chopped 320 grams
- 1 tbsp lemon juice 15 ml
- 3 tbsps honey or maple syrup, add as per sweetness 60 ml
- 2 tbsps chia seeds 30 grams
In a pan, add the strawberries and cook on low to medium heat. Cover the strawberries for a while with a lid, this will help the strawberries to become softer in texture
Once the strawberries are soft, use a potato masher to mash it. Add the lemon juice and stir well
Add the honey as per taste (remember, if the strawberries are extra ripe, they will be sweeter, and thus will require lesser honey)
Lastly, add the chia seeds to the mixture and cook for a few minutes. The mixture should turn slightly thicker in texture. Switch off the gas and pour the jam in a jar. The Jam will thicken as it cools. Once at room temperature, close the lid and store in the fridge for more than a week
