This Fluffy Pancakes Recipe teaches you how to make pancakes that are easy and also the best homemade snack for kids
- 120 grams All purpose flour 1 cup
- ¼ tsp Baking soda
- ½ tsp Baking powder
- 1 Egg yolk
- 3 Egg whites
- 60 grams Fine sugar 1/4 cup
- Pinch of cream of tartar (optional) 1/8 tsp
- 30 ml melted salted butter 2 tbsps
- 150 ml Buttermilk 1/2 cup + 4 tbsp
- ½ tsp vanilla essence
In a bowl, add the melted butter, egg yolk, buttermilk and vanilla essence. Whisk well and add the flour, baking powder and baking soda. Mix all of it well making sure there are no lumps. Set aside
In another bowl, whisk the egg whites along with the cream of tartar and fine sugar. Whisk until still peaks
Combine both the mixtures together by mixing the egg whites carefully with the flour mixture using a whisk
To make the pancakes
In a pan, on slow to medium heat, brush some butter and pour a big dollop of pancake butter. Cover with a lid for 3 to 4 mins. Once there are bubbles forming on the top and the pancake looks golden brown on one side, flip it over and let it cook for a few minutes on the other side as well
Follow the same process for the remaining pancake batter and serve these with fresh fruits, butter and lots of honey or maple syrup
