This plum jam recipe without pectin teaches you how to make plum jam or jelly using fresh or canned plums. A quick and easy homemade jam recipe with just 3 ingredients
- 500 grams fresh ripe plums, chopped (1/2 kg) you may use canned plums too
- 200 grams sugar (1 cup)
- 2 inch cinnamon stick
Combine the ripe roughly chopped plums with sugar and the cinnamon stick. Mix well and set the pan on medium heat. Let the sugar melt completely
Once the sugar has melted, increase the heat and let the mixture come to a boil. Mash the plums a little while mixing during the cooking process
Continue boiling the mixture for about 5 to 10 minutes or until the bottom of the pan is slightly visible while moving the jam with a spoon or spatula. The jam will be slightly thicker and darker in color
Switch off the gas, pour this mixture in an airtight jar or glass bottle. The mixture will get thicker after a few hours. Apply the jam onto a slice of bread and enjoy !!
