The Best Healthy Granola Recipe
Healthy Recipes are all over the internet but how many among those are seriously delicious? This granola recipe is a great start to every day. To me, granola is all about tossing my favorite dried fruits and nuts with a handful of rolled oats with some natural sweeteners like honey or maple syrup. Toss them all up and bake until crisp.
Pour in some milk or yogurt into a bowl, chop fresh fruits and add it to the bowl along with the crisp granola. And there you have, a healthy bowl of breakfast which will keep you through a busy day
Difference Between Rolled Oats And Instant Oats
Instant Oats are also known as Quick Oats. They are pre-cooked, dried and then packaged. Thus, they cook within a few minutes. The texture of instant oats is mushy or slight powdery.
Rolled Oats are also known as old fashioned oats or whole oats. They’re bigger in size as compared to instant oats. Flat and disc-like in shape. Rolled oats absorb more liquid and also hold their shape well during the cooking process. Before being packaged, they are steam to make it soft and then pressed to flatten them.
Rolled Oats is mostly used for baking cookies, granola, etc. Thus, we require rolled oats for our healthy granola recipe
How To Make Granola? (Healthy Granola Recipe)
Toss Dry Ingredients
Firstly, toss up all the dry ingredients like Oats, Nuts, Seeds, spices, salt, etc. Do not add dried fruits like raisins or cranberries at this stage, keep that for the end.
Mix The Wet Ingredients
In a bowl, mix the wet ingredients like nut butter’s, oils, sweeteners like honey or maple syrup, etc. Whisk the wet ingredients well making sure they all combine well
Combine The Dry And Wet Ingredients Together
At this stage, you need to make all the dry ingredients are well coated with the wet ingredients. Toss and turn well, we do not want a lump of oats but crumbly kinda texture
Bake
Baking the granola well is an essential step, thus, preheat the oven to 180 degrees C for 10 mins. Spread the granola mixture onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake the granola for 45 to 55 mins until golden brown. However, toss the granola every 12 to 15 mins to make sure there are no lumps. The oats should be crisp with no clusters. Loose and golden brown is what you looking for
Add The Dried Fruits
Once the granola is out of the oven. This is the stage to add the dried fruits like chopped apricots, cranberries or raisins. Toss it all up in the warm granola and let the mixture come to room temperature
Storage of Healthy Granola Recipe

Ingredients – Healthy Granola Recipe
Oats
Rolled Oats is best suited to make granola. Not instant oats. If you do not find rolled oats at the stores near you look out for it online, its easily available
Seeds
Add all kinds of seeds available. Sunflower seeds, melon seeds, chia seeds, etc. Seeds keep up to the crunch and add a lot of goodness. However, if you do not like it feel free to skip it
Nuts
Nuts add flavor, crunch and a lot of goodness as well. Add all the nuts you’d like. I’ve used almonds, walnuts, and cashews. You can even add pecans, hazelnuts, pine nuts, etc.. Add all the nuts that are easily available
Sweetener
Since we keeping this healthy, it’s good to skip the sugar. I like to use natural sweeteners like honey or maple syrup for this recipe. I’ve used maple syrup but you can even substitute it with honey
Oil
Feel free to use any kind of cooking oil. I’d recommend using canola oil or coconut oil. These are the best
Nut Butter
Nut butter adds in a lot of flavors. I’ve used almond butter. You can use any kinda nut butter thats available. If you want to learn how to make almond butter at home, here the recipe: Almond Butter
Dried Fruits
Dried fruits like raisins, dried cranberries, kiwis, apricots, etc need to be added at the end when the granola is out of the oven. They taste great when soft as it is. If it is baked with the other ingredients it turns rubbery
