Ingredients to make healthy brownies
Chickpeas
Chickpeas also known as chick peas is a type of legume that is easily available. It is a high source of protein and making the brownies with this legume is not just healthy but also gives the overall batter a good texture and taste. At first, I wasn’t sure of using legumes in brownies but when I tried it, I fell in love with this version of it
Sweetener
Maple syrup OR Honey, both work beautifully in this recipe. Use what’s easily available to you. This recipe has no refined sugar and thus we’re substituing it with these natural sweeteners
Nut Butter
In this recipe, I’ve used natural peanut butter. But you may use almond butter if you’d like
Coconut Oil
Pure coconut oil is what we’ve used but feel free to use any oil of your choice. Canola or any unflavored oil works as well. Olive oil is also a good option
Almond Flour
This recipe does not contain regular refined flour and thus we’re using Almond flour as a healthier substitute. Almond flour is easily available ready made at any baking store or even online
Cocoa powder
Use good quality, dark and rich cocoa powder to make a good brownie. The richer and darker the cocoa powder, the tastier will these be
Chocolate chips
It lifts your brownies to the next level. But is totally and optional ingredient. You may skip the chocolate chips from the recipe if you want to reduce calories
