How To Make Healthy Baked Yogurt Dessert
It is the easiest Indian dessert recipe I’ve ever made. All you need is just a few ingredients and your good to go. I personally like recipes which contain jaggery. The jaggery adds a good flavor to this dessert and is a great sweetening agent as well. There’s no much drama to this recipe. All you need to do is use hung curd. Blend it with the other ingredients and BAKE !!
Baked Yogurt is another version to the classic Bhapa Doi Recipe which is a popular Indian steamed yogurt dessert. The only difference in this one is that we bake it instead or steaming it
Hung Curd For This Baked Yogurt Pudding / Healthy Baked Yogurt Dessert
Hung curd is nothing but regular curd that is tied in a muslin cloth for a few hours. This removes the moisture from the curd making it thicker and creamier in texture. If you avoid this step, the baked yogurt won’t be firm after baking but the texture will be loose and slightly liquidy, no compromise in taste thou

Healthy Baked Yogurt Dessert Recipe
Ingredients
- Hung Curd or Thick Yogurt – 1 cup
- Jaggery powder – ⅓ cup
- Cooking cream – ½ cup
- Condensed milk – 3 tablespoons
- Cardamom powder- 1 teaspoon
Method – Healthy Baked Yogurt Dessert
- In a bowl, combine the hung curd and jaggery. Beat well until all the jaggery has combined well with the hung curd or until the jaggery is melted
- Add the condensed milk and cooking cream. Beat well. Add the cardamom powder and continue beating.
- Once this mixture has come together transfer it in a bowl. Gently tap the bowl to even out the yogurt mixture in it
- Place this bowl in another vessel containing water up to ⅓rd part of the vessel (water bath method)
- Bake this in a preheated oven at 180 degrees C for 20-25 mins. The mixture should be wobbly (not liquid or too firm)
Note
- You can have the baked yogurt warm when just out of the oven or have it chilled by setting it in the fridge for 2 hours. Both methods yield absolutely delicious baked yogurt. However, I personally like to have it when just out of the oven, warm & wobbly

Variation
If you’d like to make a fruit flavored baked yogurt dessert. Go ahead !! Add ¼ cup of fruit pulp to the mixture and then bake. All the other ingredients should be the same. Example: Add ¼ cup of mango pulp to the mixture, blend well and then bake. There you have some delicious Mango Baked Yogurt
